Church of Sant’Andrea in Papaiano

It’s one of the most ancient Romanic buildings in Poggibonsi’s area (it’s remembered before year one thousand) but the current structure is datable to the first half of the thirteenth century.
It has just a big aisle, ending in an higher transept and three apses, one of them almost disappeared.
The church has been restored more than a century ago (opening of side’s windows and recontruction of facade’s mullionade window) without being “cleansed” from the plaster that conceals the nice row.
Inside there’s a paining realised by the Florentine school of the fifteenth century (Madonna e Santi) and a Sacra Famiglia in multicolor porcelain dated back to the eighteenth century.
