Six kilometers and half of cycle and pedestrian path, inaugurated on November 19th 2011, recover the route of the old railway, which used to link Colle di Val D’Elsa with Poggibonsi, disused since 1987.
The old railway trail, with minimal slopes, has been recovered thanks to the use of low environmental impact materials, in order to avoid changing the natual setting of the path, immersed in the greenery almost completely.
The back is built with minced soil and marble of Siena, compacted by a steamroller, shaping a white dirt road.
This stretch of trail has been included in the touristic cycling network of paths, inside the regional offer of green and sustainable tourism, that involves the cycle path of Arno, the Sieve’s one, the Rete Escursionistica Toscana (RET) and the Francigena route.

Cycling lane Poggibonsi- Bellavista

The cycle and pedestrian trail starts in Poggibonsi close to the Magione castle and ends in the centre of Bellavista.

• SR 2 Cassia underpass. (113 m slm)

• Florence-Siena Highway connection underpass. (114 m slm)
